Gold APP Instruments expand its analysis service to MOFs(metal organic frameworks)

Metal-Organic Frameworks are compounds consisting of metal ions or clusters coordinated to often rigid organic molecules to form one-, two-, or three-dimensional structures that can be porous.
More formally a metal–organic framework, abbreviated to MOF, is a coordination network with organic ligands containing potential voids. A coordination network is a coordination compound extending, through repeating coordination entities, in 1 dimension, but with cross-links between two or more individual chains, loops, or spiro-links, or a coordination compound extending through repeating coordination entities in 2 or 3 dimensions and finally a coordination polymer is a coordination compound with repeating coordination entities extending in 1, 2, or 3 dimensions.
In some cases, the pores are stable during elimination of the guest molecules (often solvents) and can be used for the storage of gases such as hydrogen and carbon dioxide. Other possible applications of MOFs are in gas purification, in gas separation, in catalysis and as sensors.

Gold APP Instruments can now do high-pressure sorption analysis using the static volumetric analyzers V-Sorb 2800 and V-Sorb 4800 series Surface Area and Porosity analyzer or the high pressure gas sorption analyzer H-Sorb 2600. Both instruments are ideally suited for determining the storage capacity and heat of adsorption for metal organic frameworks (MOFs), as well as other materials such as zeolites, carbons, and novel crystalline materials.

The H-Sorb 2600 high pressure gas sorption analyzer analyzing pressure ranges from high vacuum to 200 bars. The span of the sample temperature during analysis can vary from cryogenic to 500 oC. supports two samples running simultaneously.

These instruments may be used with a large variety of gases including: methane, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, nitrogen, oxygen, argon, and nitrous oxide.
